Who is Jesus Christ?

Jesus Christ is the Only Begotten Son of the One Creator God of Heaven and Earth and of all that exists in them.

He gave his own life in sacrifice to redeem and forgive all those who believe in Him, and promises to return to earth to take all who believe in Him as the Son of God to live forever with Our Heavenly Father in God's Eternal Paradise.

As the Second Person of the Trinity, Jesus is equally God, as is the Father and the Holy Spirit.

He is our Savior and loves us in a supernatural way.

According to the Gospel of John (disciple of Jesus Christ)

Chapter 3

3         In answer, Jesus declared, "I tell you the truth, no one can see the Kingdom of God unless it is born again (or born from above)."

4         Nicodemus asked: "How can one be born when he is old? Of course he can not enter the second time in his mother's womb and be reborn! "

5        Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily I say unto you, No man can enter into the kingdom of God except he be born of water and of the Spirit.

6        That which is born of the flesh is flesh, but that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.

13       No one has ever ascended into heaven except the one who came from heaven: the Son of man.

14       As Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, so also must the Son of man be lifted up,

15      that whoever believes in him may have eternal life.

16      For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

17       For God sent his Son into the world, not to condemn the world, but that he might be saved through him.

18      Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but he who does not believe is already condemned, because he does not believe in the name of the Only Begotten Son of God.

19      This is judgment: light has come into the world, but men have loved darkness, not light, because their deeds were evil.

20      He who practices evil hates the light and does not approach the light, fearing that his works will be manifest.

21      But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that he may see clearly that his works are performed through God.

24       (This was before John was arrested.)

  Chapter 4

10       Jesus replied, "If you knew the gift of God and asked him for water, you would have asked him and he would have given you living water."

11      And the woman said, Thou hast no need to draw water, and the well is deep. Where can you get this living water?

12      Are you greater than our father Jacob, who gave us the well, from which he himself drank, as well as his sons and his cattle?

13      Jesus answered, Whosoever drinketh of this water shall thirst again,

14      but whosoever drinks of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst. On the contrary, the water that I give him will become in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life.

23      However, the time has come, and indeed has already come, that the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and in truth. These are the worshipers whom the Father seeks.

24      God is a spirit, and his worshipers must worship him in spirit and in truth.

34       Jesus said: My food is to do the will of him that sent me, and to finish his work.

Chapter 5

19       Jesus gave them this answer: I tell you truly that the Son can do nothing of himself; can only do what he sees the Father doing, because what the Father does the Son does also.

20      For the Father loves the Son and shows him all that he does. Yes, to your admiration, he will show you works even greater than these.

21      For as the Father raises the dead and gives them life, the Son also gives life to whom he will.

22      Moreover, the Father judges no one, but has committed all judgment to the Son,

23      so that all may honor the Son as they honor the Father. He who does not honor the Son does not honor the Father who sent him.

24      I assure you, whoever hears my word and believes in him who sent me has eternal life and will not be condemned, but has passed from death to life.

25      I tell you that the time has come, and has already come, when the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God, and those who hear will live.

26      For, just as the Father has life in himself, he has given the Son to have life in himself.

27      And he gave him authority to judge, for he is the Son of man.

28      Do not be astonished at this, for the time is coming when all who are in the tombs will hear your voice.

29      and they shall go forth; those who have done good will rise to life, and those who have done evil will rise to be condemned.

30      By myself I can do nothing; I judge only as I hear, and my judgment is just, for I do not seek to please myself, but to him who sent me.

37       And the Father who sent me, himself testified about me. You have never heard his voice, nor seen his form,

38      nor his word abides in you, for they do not believe him whom he has sent.

40       however, you do not want to come to me to have life.

41      I do not accept the glory of men,

42      but I know you. I know you do not have the love of God.

43      I have come in my Father's name, and you have not accepted me; but if another comes in his own name, you will accept it.

44      How can you believe, if you accept one another's glory, but do not seek the glory that comes from the one God?

45      But do not think that I will accuse you to the Father. Whoever accuses you is Moses, in whom your hopes are.

  Chapter 6

15       Knowing Jesus that they intended to proclaim him king by force, he retired again alone to the mountain.

27       Do not work for food that is spoiled, but for food that remains for everlasting life, which the Son of Man will give you. God the Father has put his seal of approval on him.

28       Then they asked him, "What do we have to do to do the works that God requires?"

29      Jesus answered, "This is the work of God: to believe on Him whom He has sent."

32       Jesus said to them, "I tell you the truth, it was not Moses who gave you bread from heaven, but it is my Father who gives you the true bread from heaven.

33      For the bread of God is he who came down from heaven and gives life to the world.

35     Then Jesus declared: I am the bread of life. He who comes to me will never hunger; he that believeth on me shall never thirst.

36      But, as I told you, you have seen me, but you still do not believe.

37      Everyone that the Father gives me will come to me, and whoever comes to me I will never reject.

38      For I came down from heaven, not to do my will, but to do the will of him that sent me.

39      And this is the will of him that sent me: lest I lose none of the things which he hath given me, but raise them up at the last day.

40      For the will of my Father is that whosoever looketh on the Son, and believeth on him, shall have eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day.

44      No one can come to me if the Father who sent me does not attract him; and I will raise him up at the last day.

46       No one has seen the Father except the one who comes from God; only he saw the Father.

47      I assure you that he who believes has eternal life.

48      I am the bread of life.

49      Their ancestors ate the manna in the desert, but they died.

50      But here is the bread that comes down from heaven so that no one who eats it dies.

51      I am the living bread that came down from heaven. If any man eat of this bread, he shall live for ever. This bread is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world.

53       Jesus said to them, "I tell you the truth, if you do not eat the flesh of the Son of man and drink his blood, you will not have life in you.

54      Everyone who eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day.

55      For my flesh is true food and my blood is true drink.

56      Everyone who eats my flesh and drinks my blood remains in me and I in him.

57      Just as the living Father has sent me and I live because of the Father, so he who feeds on me will live because of me.

58       This is the bread that came down from heaven. Your ancestors ate the manna and died, but he who feeds on this bread will live forever.

60      When they heard this, many of his disciples said, "This is a hard word. Who can bear it? "

61      Knowing inwardly that his disciples were complaining about what they had heard, Jesus said to them, "Does this offend you?

62      What will happen if you see the Son of Man ascending to where he was before?

63      The Spirit gives life; the flesh produces nothing to be enjoyed. The words I have spoken to you are spirit and life.

65       And he continued, "That is why I told you that no one can come to me, unless it is given to you by the Father."

Chapter 7

7         The world can not hate them, but it hates me because I bear witness that what it does is bad.

16       Jesus answered: My teaching is not of myself. Come from the one who sent me.

17       If anyone decides to do the will of God, he will find out if my teaching comes from God or if I speak for myself.

18      He that speaketh of himself seeketh his own glory, but he that seeketh the glory of him that sent him, this is true; there is nothing false about you.

24       Do not judge only by appearance, but make righteous judgments.

28       As he taught in the temple court, Jesus exclaimed, "Yes, you know me and know where I am. I am not here by myself, but the one who sent me is true. You do not know him,

29      but I know him because I come from him, and he sent me.

33       Jesus said to them, "I am with you only a little while, and I will go to him who sent me."

34      You will seek for me, but you will not find me; You can not go to the place where I'll be.

37       On the last and most important day of the feast, Jesus got up and said with a loud voice, "If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink.

Chapter 8

3        The teachers of the law and the Pharisees brought him a woman caught in adultery. They made her stand in front of everyone

4        and they said unto Jesus, Master, this woman was caught in the act of adultery.

5        In the Law, Moses commands us to stone such women. And you, what do you say?

6        They were using this question as a trap in order to have a basis for accusing him. But Jesus bent down and began to write on the ground with his finger.

7        As they continued to question him, he stood up and said to them, "If any of you are without sin, be the first to throw stone at it."

8        He bent over and continued writing on the floor.

9        Those who heard him went out, one at a time, beginning with the elders. Jesus stood alone, the woman standing before him.

10      Then Jesus stood and asked him, "Woman, where are they? Has no one condemned her? "

11      "No one, Lord," she said. Jesus declared, "I do not condemn you either. Now go and forsake your life of sin. "

12      Speaking again to the people, Jesus said, "I am the light of the world. He that followeth me shall never walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life. "

14       And Jesus said, Though I testify in my behalf, my testimony is good, for I know whence I came, and whither I go. But you do not know where I came from or where I'm going.

15      You judge by human standards; I do not judge anyone.

16      Even if I judge, my decisions are true, because I am not alone. I am with the Father who sent me.

17      It is written in your Law that the testimony of two men is valid.

18      I testify about myself; My other witness is the Father who sent me.

19      Then they asked him, "Where is your father?" Jesus answered, "You know neither me nor my Father. If you knew me, you would know my Father."

21       Again Jesus said to them, "I am going away, and you will seek for me, and you will die in your sins. Where I'm going, you can not go. "

23       But he continued: You are from below; I am from above. You are of this world; I am not of this world.

24       I told you that you will die in your sins. If you do not believe that I am, you will in fact die in your sins.

25       "Who are you?" They asked. "Exactly what I have said all along," answered Jesus.

26      "I have many things to say and judge about you. For he who sent me is trustworthy, and I tell the world what I heard from him. "

27      They did not understand that He was speaking to them about the Father.

28      Then Jesus said, When you lift up the Son of man, you will know that I am, and that I do nothing of myself, but I speak exactly what the Father taught me.

29      He who sent me is with me; he did not leave me alone, for I always do what pleases him.

31      Jesus said to the Jews who had believed in him, "If you stand firm in my word, you will truly be my disciples."

32      And you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.

34      Jesus answered: I tell you the truth: Everyone who lives in sin is a slave to sin.

35      The slave has no permanent place in the family, but the child belongs to it forever.

36      Therefore, if the Son sets you free, you will indeed be free.

37      I know that you are descendants of Abraham. Yet they are seeking to kill me, because in you there is no place for my word.

38      I am telling you what I saw in the presence of the Father, and you do what you have heard from your father.

Therefore, do what you have heard from the Father

41       You are doing the works of your father. " They protested: "We are not illegitimate children. The only Father we have is God. "

42      Jesus said to them, "If God were your Father, you would love me, for I came from God and now I am here. I did not come by myself, but he sent me.

43      Why is not my language clear to you? Because they are unable to hear what I say.

44      You belong to your father, the Devil, and you want to fulfill his desire. He was a murderer from the beginning and did not cling to the truth, for there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his own tongue, for he is a liar and the father of lies.

45      However, you do not believe me, because I tell you the truth!

46      Which of you can accuse me of some sin? If I am speaking the truth, why do you not believe me?

47      He who belongs to God hears what God says. You do not listen because you do not belong to God.

48      The Jews answered him, "Are not we right to say that you are a Samaritan and have a demon?"

49      Jesus said: I am not possessed with a demon! On the contrary, I honor my Father, and you dishonor me.

50      I am not seeking glory for myself; but there are those who seek and judge.

51      I assure you that if anyone obeys my word, he will never see death.

52      At this the Jews exclaimed, "Now we know that you are possessed with a demon! Abraham died as well as the prophets, but you say that if anyone obeys his word, he will never experience death.

53      Are you greater than our father Abraham? He died, as did the prophets. Who do you think you are?

54       Jesus answered, "If I glorify myself, my glory means nothing. My Father, who you say is your God, glorifies me.

55      You do not know him, but I know him. If I said I do not know you, I would be a liar like you, but I do know him and I obey his word.

56      Abraham, your father, rejoiced that he would see my day; he saw it and was glad.

57      The Jews said to him, "Are you not yet fifty years old, and have you seen Abraham?"

58      Jesus answered, "I tell you that before Abraham is born, I AM!"

Chapter 9

1        As he passed, Jesus saw a man blind from birth.

2        His disciples asked him, "Master, who sinned: this man or his parents, that he might be born blind?"

3        Jesus said: Neither he nor his parents sinned, but this was done so that the work of God might be manifested in his life.

5         While I am in the world, I am the light of the world.

6        Having said this, he spat on the ground, mixed earth with saliva, and applied it to the man's eyes.

7        Then he said to him, "Go wash in the pool of Siloam" (meaning "sent"). The man went, washed and came back seeing.

39       Jesus said, "I have come into this world for judgment, that the blind may see, and those who see may become blind."

40      Some Pharisees who were with him heard him say this and asked, "Are we blind too?"

41      Jesus said: If you were blind, you would not be guilty of sin; but now that they say they can see, your guilt remains.

 Chapter 10

1        I assure you that he who does not enter the fold of the sheep through the door, but rises from another place, is a thief and a robber.

2        He that entereth in by the door is the shepherd of the sheep.

3        The doorman opens the door for him, and the sheep hear his voice. He calls his own sheep by name and leads them out.

4        And he leadeth forth all his sheep, and goeth before them, and they follow him, because they know his voice.

5        But they will never follow a stranger; in fact, they will flee from him because they do not recognize the voice of strangers.

6        Jesus used this comparison, but they did not understand what he was talking about.

7        And Jesus said again, I tell you the truth, I am the door of the sheep.

8        All who came before me were thieves and robbers, but the sheep did not hear them.

9        I am the door; Whoever enters through me will be saved. You will enter and leave, and you will find pasture. (Or you'll be safe)

10      The thief comes only to steal, to kill, and to destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.

11      I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep.

12      The hireling is not the shepherd to whom the sheep belong. So when he sees the wolf coming, he abandons the sheep and flees. Then the wolf attacks the flock and scatters it.

13      He flees because he is hired and does not care about the sheep.

14      I am the good shepherd; I know my sheep, and they know me,

15      even as the Father knows me and I know the Father; and I lay down my life for the sheep.

16      I have other sheep that are not of this fold. It is necessary for me to lead them as well. They will hear my voice, and there will be one flock and one shepherd.

17      That is why my Father loves me, because I give my life to take it back.

18      No one takes it from me, but I give it by my own free will. I have authority to give it and to take it back. This command I received from my Father.

24      The Jews gathered around him and asked, "How long will you leave us in suspense? If you are the Christ, tell us plainly. "

25      Jesus answered, I have told you, but you do not believe. The works that I do in my Father's name speak for me,

26      but you do not believe, because you are not my sheep.

27      My sheep hear my voice; I know them, and they follow me.

28      I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one can pluck them out of my hand.

29      My Father, who gave them to me, is greater than all;    no one can pluck them out of the hand of my Father.

30       I and the Father are one.

32      but Jesus said to them, "I have shown you many good works from the Father. For which of you do you want to stone me?"

37       If I do not do the works of my Father, do not believe in me.

38      But if I do them, even if they do not believe in me, believe in works, that they may know and understand that the Father is in me, and I in the Father.

Chapter 11

25       Jesus saith unto him, I am the resurrection, and the life. He that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live;

26      and whoever lives and believes in me will never die. Do you believe that?

Chapter 12

24       I tell you truly that if the grain of wheat does not fall on the earth and not die, it will remain alone. But if it dies, it will bear much fruit.

25      He that loveth his life shall lose it; while he who hates his life in this world will keep it for everlasting life.

26      Whoever serves me needs to follow me; and where I am, my servant will be. He who serves me, my Father will honor him.

27      Now my heart is troubled, and what shall I say? Father, save me from this hour? Not; I came exactly to this, for this hour.

28      Father, glorify thy name! "Then came a voice from the heavens," I have glorified him, and will glorify him again. "

30       Jesus said: This voice came because of you, and not because of me.

31      The time has come to be judged in this world; now the prince of this world will be cast out.

32      But I, when I am lifted up from the earth, will draw all men to me.

35       Jesus said to them, "For a little while longer the light will be among you." Walk while you have the light, so that darkness does not surprise you, for he who walks in darkness does not know where he is going.

36      Believe in the light as you have it, so that you become children of light. When Jesus had finished speaking, he went out and hid himself from them.

44      And Jesus said with a loud voice, He that believeth on me, believeth not on me alone, but on him that sent me.

45      Whoever sees me sees the one who sent me.

46      I have come into the world as light, that whoever believes in me should not remain in darkness.

47      If anyone hears my words and does not obey them, I do not judge him. For I came not to judge the world, but to save it.

48      There is a judge who rejects me and does not accept my words; the very word which I have spoken shall condemn him at the last day.

49      For I did not speak of myself, but the Father who sent me commanded me what to say and what to speak.

50      I know that his commandment is eternal life. So what I say is exactly what the Father told me to say.

 Chapter 13

4         So she got up from the table, took off her cloak, and wrapped a towel around her waist.

5        After that, he poured water into a basin and began to wash his disciples' feet, wiping them with the towel that was on his waist.

6        And Simon Peter came and said to him, "Lord, will you wash my feet?"

7        Jesus answered, "You do not understand now what I am doing to you; but later he will understand. "

8        Peter said, "No; you shall never wash my feet! " Jesus replied, "If I do not wash them, you will have no part with me."

9        Simon Peter answered, "Lord, not only my feet, but also my hands and my head!"

10      Jesus answered, "He who has bathed must only wash his feet; your whole body is clean. You are clean, but not all. "

11      For he knew who would betray him, and so he said that not all were clean.

12      When he had finished washing their feet, he put on his cloak and went back to his place. And he said to them, Do you understand what I have done to you?

13      You call me "Master" and "Lord," and rightly so, for I am.

14      Well, if I, as Lord and Master of you, have washed their feet, you also ought to wash one another's feet.

15      I have given you an example, that you may do as I have done to you.

16      I tell you truly that no slave is greater than his master, nor any messenger    is greater than the one who sent him.

17       Now that you know these things, you will be happy if you practice them.

18      I am not referring to all of you; I know the ones I chose. But this is so that the Scripture may be fulfilled: "He that shared my bread hath turned against me.

19      I am telling you before it happens, so that when it does, you will believe that I Am.

20       I assure you: whoever receives the one I send will receive me; and he that receiveth me receiveth him that sent me.

31       After Judas left, Jesus said: Now the Son of man is glorified, and God is glorified in him.

33      My little children, I'll be with you just a little longer. You will search for me, and as I told the Jews, now I say to you, Where I go, you can not go.

34      A new commandment I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, you must love one another.

35      By this all will know that you are my disciples, if you love each other.

36      Simon Peter asked him, "Lord, where are you going?" Jesus replied, "Where I am going, you can not follow me now, but you will follow me later."

 Chapter 14

1        Let not your hearts be troubled. Believe in God;    believe also in me.

2        In my Father's house there are many rooms; if it had not been so, I would have told them. I will prepare them place.

3         And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come and take you to me, that you may be where I am.

4        You know the way I go.

5        Thomas said to him, "Lord, we do not know where you are going; how then can we know the way? "

6        Jesus answered, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.

7        If you really knew me, you would know    even my Father. By now you know him and have seen him.

8         Philip said, "Lord, show us the Father, and that is enough for us."

9        Jesus answered, "Do you not know me, Philip, even after I have been with you for so long? Who sees me, sees the Father. How can you say, "Show us the Father"?

10      Do you not believe that I am in the Father and that the Father is in me? The words I tell you are not just mine. On the contrary, the Father, who lives in me, is doing his work.

11      Believe in me when I say that I am in the Father and that the Father is in me; or at least believe because of the same works.

12      I tell you the truth: He that believeth on me will do the works that I have done. He will do greater things than these, for I am going to the Father.

13      And I will do as you ask in my name, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.

14      Whatever you ask in my name, I will do.

15      If you love me, you will obey my commandments.

16      And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Counselor to be with you forever,

17      the Spirit of truth. The world can not receive it because it does not see or know it. But you know him, for he lives with you and will be    in you.

18       I will not leave them orphans; I will come back to you.

19      Soon the world will see me no more; but you will see me. Because I live, you too will live.

20      In that day you will understand that I am in my Father, you in me, and I in you.

21      Whoever has my commandments and obeys them, this is the one who loves me. He who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I will love him and reveal myself to him.

22      Then Judas (not Iscariot) said, "Lord, why should you reveal yourself to us and not to the world?"

23      Jesus answered and said, If any man loveth me, he shall obey my word. My Father will love him, we will come to him and we will dwell there.

24      He who does not love me does not obey my words. These words you are hearing are not mine; they are from my Father who sent me.

25      All this I have told you while I am still with you.

26      But the Counselor, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and remind you of all that I have said to you.

27      I leave you peace; my peace I give you. I do not give it as the world gives it. Let not your heart be troubled, nor be afraid.

28      You have heard me say, I will, but I will come back to you. If you loved me, you would be glad because I am going to the Father, because the Father is greater than I am.

29      This I tell you now, before it happens, that, when it does happen, you will believe.

30      I will tell you no more, for the prince of this world is coming. He has no claim on me.

31      Yet the world must know that I love the Father and that I do what my Father has commanded me. Get up, let's get out of here!

 Chapter 15

1        I am the true vine, and my Father is the farmer.

2        Every branch that is in me does not bear fruit, it cuts off; and every one that bears fruit he prunes, that he may bear more fruit.

3         You are already clean by the word I have spoken to you.

4        Remain in me, and I will abide in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself, except it abide in the vine. You can not bear fruit unless you abide in me.

5        I am the vine; you are the branches. If any man abide in me, and I in him, he shall bear much fruit; for without me you can do nothing.

6        If anyone does not abide in me, he shall be as the branch that is cast out and withers. These branches are caught, thrown into the fire and burned.

7        If you remain in me, and my words remain in you, you will ask what you will, and it will be given you.

8        My Father is glorified because you bear much fruit; and so shall you be my disciples.

9        As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you; remain in my love.

10      If you obey my commandments, you will abide in my love, just as I have obeyed my Father's commandments and abide in your love.

11      I have told you these words so that my joy may be in you and your joy be complete.

12      My commandment is this: Love one another as I have loved you.

13      No one has greater love than he who lays down his life for his friends.

14      You will be my friends if you do what I command you.

15      I no longer call them servants, for the servant does not know what his master does. Instead, I have called you friends, because everything I have heard from my Father I have made known to you.

16      You have not chosen me, but I have chosen you to go and bear fruit, fruit that remains, so that the Father may grant you what you ask in my name.

17      This is my commandment: Love one another.

18      If the world hates you, keep in mind that you hated me before.

19      If you belonged to the world, he would love you as if you were his. Yet you are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world; so the world hates them.

20      Remember the words that I said to you, No slave is greater than his master.    If they persecuted me, they will also persecute you. If you have obeyed my word, you will obey yours.

21       They will treat you for my name's sake, for they do not know the one who sent me.

22      If I had not come and told them, they would not be guilty of sin. Now, however, they have no excuse for their sin.

23      He who hates me hates my Father also.

24      If I had not performed in the midst of them works that no one else did, they would not be guilty of sin. But now they have seen and hated me and my Father.

25      But this happened to fulfill what is written in their Law: "They hated me without reason"

26      When the Counselor comes, whom I will send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth from the Father, he will testify about me.

27      And you also will testify, for you have been with me from the beginning.

Chapter 16

1        I have told you all this so that you do not come to stumble.

2        You will be expelled from the synagogues; in fact, the time will come when whoever kills them will think they are worshiping God.

3        They will do these things because they have not known the Father or me.

4        I am telling you this so that when the time comes, remember that I warned you. I did not tell you this in the beginning because I was with you.

5        Now that I am going to the one who sent me, none of you asks me, "Where are you going?"

6        Because I have said these things, your heart has filled with sorrow.

7        But I tell you that it is for your good that I go. If I do not go, the Counselor will not come to you; but if I go, I will send him.

8        When he comes, he will convince the world of sin, of justice, and of judgment.

  9        From sin, because men do not believe in me;

  10      of righteousness, because I go to the Father, and you will see me no more;

11      and of judgment, because the prince of this world is already doomed.

12      I still have much to tell you, but you can not bear it now.

13      But when the Spirit of truth comes, he will lead you into all truth. He will not speak of himself; he will speak only what he hears, and he will tell them what is to come.

14      He will glorify me, for he will receive from mine and make him known to you.

15      Everything that belongs to the Father is mine. That is why I said that the Spirit will receive what is mine and make it known to you.

16      "A little longer and you will not see me; a little more, and they will see me again. "

18     And they asked, "What do you mean" a little more "? We do not understand what he's saying. "

20       I tell you that you will surely weep and mourn, but the world will rejoice. You will be sorrowful, but your sorrow will turn to joy.

21      The woman who is giving birth is in pain, for her hour has come; but when the baby is born, she forgets the anguish, because of the joy of coming to the world.

22      So it is with you: now is the hour of sorrow for you, but I will see you again, and you will rejoice, and no one will take away your joy.

23      On that day you will ask me nothing more. I assure you that my Father will give you all that you ask in my name.

24 Until now you have not asked for anything in my name. Ask and you will receive, so that your joy may be complete.

25 Although I have spoken through figures, the hour is coming when I will no longer use this kind of language, but I will speak openly about my Father.

26 On that day you will ask in my name. I do not say that I will ask the Father in your behalf,

27 For the Father himself loves you, because you have loved me and believed that I came from God.

28      I came from the Father and entered into the world; now I leave the world and I return to the Father.

29      Then the disciples of Jesus said, Now you are speaking plainly, and not by figures.

30      Now we can realize that you know all things and do not even need to be asked questions. That is why we believe that you came from God.

31      And Jesus said, Now do you believe?

32      The hour is approaching, and it is now, when you will be scattered each one to your house. You will leave me alone. But I am not alone, for my Father is with me.

33      "I have told you these things so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have afflictions; however, be of good cheer! I have conquered the world. "

Chapter 17

1        After saying this, Jesus looked up to heaven and prayed: Father, the time has come. Glorify thy Son, that thy Son may glorify thee.

2        For you have given him authority over all mankind, that he may give eternal life to all whom you have given him.

3         This is eternal life: that they may know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom thou hast sent.

4        I have glorified you on the earth, completing the work you gave me to do.

5        And now, Father, glorify me with you, with the glory that I had with you before the world existed.

6        I have revealed your name to those of the world who gave me. They were yours; you gave them to me, and they have obeyed your word.

7 Now they know that whatever you have given me comes from you.

8 For I have given you the words which you have given me, and they have accepted them. They know that I came from you and believed that you sent me.

9 I pray for them. I am not praying for the world, but for those whom you have given me, for they are yours.

10      All that I have is yours, and all you have is mine. And I have been glorified through them.

11 I will no longer be in the world, but they are still in the world, and I go to you. Holy Father, protect them in your name, the name you gave me, that they may be one, even as we are one.

12 While I was with them, I protected them and kept them in the name you gave me. Not one of them was lost except the one who was destined for perdition, so that the Scripture might be fulfilled.

13 Now I come to you, but I say these things while I am yet in the world, that they may have the fullness of my joy.

14      I gave them your word, and the world hated them, for they are not of the world, as I am not.

15      I do not ask that you take them out of the world, but that you protect them from the Evil One.

16      They are not of the world, as I am not.

17 Sanctify them in the truth; Thy word is truth.

18      Just as you sent me into the world, I sent them into the world.

19      In their behalf I sanctify myself, that they also may be sanctified by the truth.

20      My prayer is not just for them. I also pray for those who will believe in me, through their message,

21      so that all may be one, Father, as you are in me and I in you. Let them also be in us, that the world may believe that thou hast sent me.

22      I have given them the glory which thou hast given me, that they may be one, even as we are one:

23      I in them and you in me. May they be brought into full unity, so that the world may know that you have sent me, and you loved them just as you loved me.

24 Father, I want those who have given me to be with me where I am and see my glory, the glory you gave me because you loved me before the creation of the world.

25 A righteous father, though the world knoweth thee not, I know thee, and these know that thou hast sent me.

26 I have made them known to you, and I will continue to do so, so that the love that you have for me may be in them and I in them.

Chapter 18

11 But Jesus commanded Peter, "Keep the sword! Shall I not drink the cup which the Father hath given me? "

33      Pilate then returned to the Praetorium, called Jesus and asked him, "Are you the king of the Jews?"

34      Jesus asked him, "Is this your question, or have others told you about me?"

35      Pilate answered, "Am I a Jew? It was his people and the chief priests who delivered him to me. What did you do? "

36      Said Jesus: "My Kingdom is not of this world. If it were, my servants would fight to keep the Jews from arming me. But now my Kingdom is not from here. "

37 "Then you are king!" Said Pilate. Jesus answered, "You say that I am a king. In fact, for this reason I was born and for this I came into the world: to testify of the truth. All who are of the truth hear me. "

Chapter 19

15       But they shouted, "Kill! Woods! Crucify him! "" Should I crucify your king? "Pilate asked. "We have no king, but Caesar," answered the chief priests.

16      Finally Pilate delivered him to them to be crucified. Then the soldiers took charge of Jesus.

17 Taking his own cross, he went out to the place called Skull (which in Aramaic is called Golgotha).

18      There they crucified him, and with him two others, one on each side of Jesus.

29       There was a bowl full of vinegar. Then they soaked a sponge in it, placed the sponge on the end of a reed hissopo and raised it to the lips of Jesus.

30       Having tasted it, Jesus said, "It is finished!" With that, he bowed his head and gave up the spirit.

Chapter 20

1        On the first day of the week, very early in the morning, Mary Magdalene came to the tomb and saw that the stone of the entrance had been removed.

2        Then he ran to meet Simon Peter and the other disciple, whom Jesus loved, and said, "They have taken the Lord out of the tomb, and we know not where they have laid him."

3        Peter and the other disciple went out and went to the tomb.

5         He bent over and looked inside, saw the linen lanes there, but did not enter.

8 And the other disciple, who came first to the sepulcher, also entered. He saw and believed.

9 (They still had not understood that, according to the Scripture, it was necessary for Jesus to rise from the dead.)

  10      The disciples returned home.

11 Mary, however, stood at the entrance of the tomb, weeping. As she wept, she bent to look into the tomb

12 And he saw two angels clothed in white, sitting where Jesus' body had been, one at the head and the other at his feet.

13 They asked him, "Woman, why are you crying?" "They have taken away my Lord," she replied, "and I do not know where they have put him."

14      At this she turned and saw Jesus standing there, but did not recognize him.

15      He said, "Woman, why are you crying? Who are you looking for? "Thinking it was the gardener, she said," If you took him away, tell me where he put it, and I'll take him. "

16      Jesus said to her, "Mary!" Then, turning to him, Mary exclaimed in Aramaic: "Raboni!" (Which means "Master!").

17 Jesus said, "Do not hold me, for I have not yet returned to the Father. Go to my brothers and say to them, 'I am returning to my Father and your Father, to my God and to your God.'

18       Mary Magdalene went and told the disciples, "I have seen the Lord!" And he told what he had told him.

19      And it came to pass at the evening of the first day of the week, when the disciples were gathered together, for fear of the Jews, that Jesus was come in, and stood in the midst of them, and said, Peace be unto you.

20      Having said this, he showed them his hands and his side. The disciples rejoiced when they saw the Lord.

21      Again Jesus said, "Peace be with you! As the Father has sent me, I send them. "

22      And with that, he breathed on them and said, Receive the Holy Spirit.

23      If you forgive someone's sins, they will be forgiven; if you do not forgive them, you will not be forgiven.

26 A week later his disciples were there again, and Thomas with them. Though the doors were locked, Jesus went in and stood among them and said, "Peace be with you!"

27 And Jesus said to Thomas, "Put your finger here; look at my hands. Reach out and put it on my side. Stop doubting and believe. "

28      Thomas said to him, "My Lord and my God!"

29      Then Jesus said to him, "Why did you see me, did you believe? Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed. "

30      Jesus performed in the presence of his disciples many other miraculous signs, which are not recorded in this book.

31      But these were written for you to believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God and, believing, have life in his name.

Chapter 21

1        After this Jesus appeared again to his disciples, by the sea of Tiberias. It was so:

2         Simon Peter was together; Thomas, called Didymus; Nathanael of Cana of Galilee; the sons of Zebedee; and two other disciples.

3        "I am going to fish," Simon Peter told them. And they said, "We'll go with you." They went and got into the boat, but that night they did not catch anything.

4        At dawn, Jesus was on the beach, but the disciples did not recognize him.

5        He asked them, "Children, do you have something to eat?" They said no.

6        He said, "Cast the net on the right side of the boat and you will find it." They threw it, and could not gather the net, such was the quantity of fish.

7 The disciple whom Jesus loved said to Peter, "It is the Lord!" Simon Peter, hearing him say this, put on his cloak, for he had taken it, and cast himself into the sea.

8 The other disciples came in the boat, dragging the net full of fish, for they were only about ninety yards from the shore.

9 When they disembarked, they saw there a fire, fish over coals, and some bread.

10      Jesus said to them, "Bring some of the fish that you have just caught."

11 Simon Peter got into the boat and dragged the hammock to the beach. It was full: there were one hundred and fifty-three large fish. Although there were so many fish, the net did not break.

12 Jesus said to them, "Come and eat." None of the disciples had the courage to ask him, "Who are you?" They knew it was the Lord.

13 Jesus came and took the bread and gave it to them, doing the same with the fish.

14      This was the third time that Jesus appeared to his disciples after he rose from the dead.

15      After they had eaten, Jesus asked Simon Peter, "Simon, son of John, do you love me more than these?" He said, "Yes, Lord, you know that I love you." Jesus said, "Take care of my lambs."

16      Again Jesus said, "Simon, son of John, do you love me?" He answered, "Yes, Lord, you know that I love you." Jesus said, "Shepherd my sheep."

17 For the third time he said to him, "Simon, son of John, do you love me?" Peter was hurt that Jesus asked him the third time, "Do you love me?" And said to him, "Lord, you know all things and you know that I love you. " Jesus said to him, "Take care of my sheep.

18      I tell you the truth: When you were younger, you would dress and go where you wanted; but when he is old, he will stretch out his hands and another person will clothe him and lead him to where you do not want to go.

19      Jesus said this to indicate the kind of death with which Peter would glorify God. And then he said, "Follow me!"

20      Peter turned and saw that the disciple whom Jesus loved followed. (This was the one who had been with Jesus at supper and asked, "Lord, who will betray you?")

21      When Peter saw him, he asked, "Lord, what about him?"

22      Jesus answered, "If I want him to stay alive until I come back, what matters to him? As for you, follow me! "

24 This is the disciple who testifies to these things and recorded them. We know that your testimony is true.

25 Jesus also did many other things. If each one was written, I do not think even the world would have enough space for the books that would be written.

If you have been touched by the word of the Father and want to accept your son Jesus as your Savior, repeat this prayer with me with all your heart and sincerity:

Father, I place myself before you in the name of your beloved and dear son Jesus, I ask your forgiveness for my sins, I ask that you free me from all evil so that I may live eternal life with you,

Jesus enters my heart, I believe in your promises, change my life, be      starting   from now on in my being, I believe that you are the only way that leads to the Father, I believe that you are the way, the truth and the life, fill me with your presence, feed my soul with your word that leads us to wait your turn to seek us and live with you and the Father for ever and ever,

Thank you Jesus, for everything, Amen.
